this is kind of premature, but,
i almost peed in my pants when i found this out.
...the books are coming to atlanta at the end of march..
this is almost a bigger deal than the first time we saw xiu xiu.
actually, i think it is. pretty sure. yeah. yes.
animal collective and the books in one single month... something absolutely horrible must be about to happen.
three months to wait though, haha |

good time:
summer 2004 the night after i got back from the road trip, sitting on sweetheart circle with ben and matt, eating subway and talking about the notwist.
wish me luck surviving this week. (i feel like i say that every week?)

the world is too small! everybody knows everybody knows everybody knows my dad.
its okay though
anyway, i think i'm going to do one or more of the following:
1)start a new one of these
2)go back and delete the lame, pitiful, pointless entries from the past (all) one at a time of course, so it should take a while
3)go back and convert them to friends-only
4)put this off for a while until i really feel like doing it
( wasting time )

today i met a man without any arms.
he had one prosthetic arm that had a clamp at the end, and on his left side there was nothing. he picked up a marker with his mouth, somehow took the cap off of it, and started drawing on a pad of paper that i held still for him. this dude drew a picture of a bulldog [better than i could have] with his mouth while talking to me about how he got burned when he was little, lost his arms, and then taught himself how to draw with his mouth. the accident also made some kind of something messed up inside of him that made him sweat a lot. and yes, he was sweating a lot. he had two paper towels he was holding between his knees as he drew that he later picked up with his clamp hand and used to wipe off his face. he said, "i betcha never seen an artist who can draw and talk at the same time hadya? hee hee hee!" |

today someone asked me if tv on the radio was a jam band....
tonight whitney and i went to subway for the two 12" deal. that was more sandwich than i have ever eaten at once. the sandwich man talked to me about my shirt instead of making my sandwich. he told me i was probably one of those indie kids who is really cool and makes kids like him feel not cool, only making me look cooler. ah, if he only knew me...
the past couple of days i have been living a seemingly boring existance. for instance, yesterday i sat in one place for six hours working in illustrator. but whatever it was FUN.
i am really good at not letting things bother me for the most part, until BAM it smacks me in the face.
speaking of being smacked, someone smacked my ass last weekend. completely unexpected.
so in my drawing techniques class (which is really the precursor to illustration), we are supposed to be making labels for starbucks coffee beans packages. ( Read more... )
and does anyone else out there find this as hilarious as i do?? lol
the damn rabbit has been trying to eat me for the last 3 hours and IT IS GETTING OLD |

finally got back to athens this morning. car-pooling is the way to go.
oh my gosh there are going to be some good shows in athens in the next month or so, including Fantomas and Olivia Tremor Control and other goodies! |

ticket purchaced, chicken burrito, and i'll be home in less than 48 hours.
sounds like a good day to me.
i'm so ready for this break of school/everything. i don't care if it's going to be cold.

yeah, happy birthday richard. you are awesome.
(so awesome that maybe when i graduate you can hook me up with a job. haha)
i'm not so tired of school, but i want spring break to be here now anyway. i don't know what i'm doing, but i know it wont involve waking up at 6:30.
so, after transfers and classes that wont transfer and stupid advisors and changing requirements, i figured out exactly what classes i have left to take, and it's not going to be that bad. i'm done with art history and i have one nonmajor class that i have to take (which will hopefully be a music class). i had a minor fallout last night when i thought i was screwing myself up by studying abroad, but it itsn't going to hurt me. i just need to find some money. |
